At Legacy New Homes, our mission goes far beyond than new homes in North Mississppi—it stretches far out into the communities where we build. That’s why we’re proud to be one of the sponsors of Blues for the Blue, a heartfelt event held in support of the heroes who protect and serve our local neighborhoods. Join us Saturday, May 17 from 5–10 PM at Silo Square in Southaven, MS, for an evening full of music, food and community spirit—all for a cause that hits close to home.

Crawfish and community impact

Back for its third year, Blues for the Blue is more than just a good time. It’s an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local law enforcement officers and first responders. The event benefits the Southaven Police Department’s First Responders Benevolence Fund and the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office Blue Line Fund—two vital initiatives that support those who step in when our community needs them most.

In 2023, this event raised an incredible $105,000. In 2024, that number climbed to $115,000—and with your help, 2025 could be the most impactful year yet.

Each sponsorship or ticket includes all-you-can-eat crawfish and four drink tickets, so come hungry! The night will be filled with live blues music, great food and a shared sense of purpose—all set against the vibrant backdrop of Silo Square.

A day for the whole family

Before the main event kicks off, we invite families to bring their little ones out for the Touch-A-Truck event from 11 AM to 1 PM. This FREE, family-friendly experience lets kids climb, explore and interact with all kinds of emergency and construction vehicles—from police cruisers and fire trucks to search & rescue boats and bulldozers.

It’s a fun and educational way to help children connect with the people and tools that keep our community safe.

The funds raised from Blues for the Blue go directly to helping officers and their families in times of crisis—covering everything from food and medical supplies to training and resources. These benevolence funds are the first of their kind in the state of Mississippi, and they’re setting a new standard for what it means to support our local heroes.

By strengthening our police and first responder teams, we’re not just showing appreciation—we’re helping Southaven and DeSoto County grow into safer, stronger and more connected places to live, work and play.
